Jack Baby Socks
These socks require intermediate knitting skills.
Gneiss Colourwork Socks are worked in one piece, without seams, from the cuff down, beginning with K1, P1 rib. After the stocking stitch instep is worked, the foot stitches are picked up and worked in garter stitch. The sole is worked in a contrast colour in stocking stitch and short rows create the shape. The sole is grafted closed using Kitchener Stitch.
Yarn Requirements:
Cleckheaton Superfine Merino 8 ply
65g/2¼ oz balls 130m/142yds
Main Colour (M) x 1 ball
Contrast Colour (C) x 1 ball
These quantities will make several pairs of socks.
Reverse colours to maximise yarn usage.
Needles and Extras:
- set of five 3.25mm US 3 double-pointed knitting needles
- 1 removable stitch marker or small safety pin
